K9 Island is the place that love and passion built. Its founder, Debbie Gutierrez, envisioned a place where work and fun could co-mingle.
Where dogs can be dogs while under the watchful care and love of humans
Where owners can be assured that their loved ones are part of something special during their absence.
Where staff can feel that they matter and are respected for the job they do.
Debbie has worked in a variety of roles in Nursing for over 25 years but decided to return to her childhood dream of working with animals…and more specifically, dogs. For Debbie, compassion as a nurse easily translates to her new role as caretaker of your pup and she requires the same compassion and love of dogs in her staff In addition to being a dog owner for 15 years, Debbie has volunteered at the Longmont Humane Society and participated in internships where she learned dog behavior and training techniques. She received certification from the American Red Cross in Pet CPR and First Aid.
All staff is trained on Pet CPR, First Aid, canine body language and behavior, and safety.
The mission of K9 Island is to provide a safe and fun environment for the dogs, their owners, and the staff. K9 Island is dedicated to developing long-term relationships with their customers and staff by recognizing and respecting each person’s importance in creating a wonderful environment and experience.
